North Dakota Fishing Guides

Lake Oahe, Missouri River and Lake Sakakawea are arguably some of the best walleye fisheries in the world and are currently experiencing some of their best fishing ever with a variety of year classes to catch. The average walleye catch is between 18 to 19 inches with numerous 20 to 25 inch walleye as well. The future of these fisheries are looking very bright with miles and miles of nutrient rich water that holds explosive amounts of baitfish and fertile spawning habitat, making them the world class fisheries they are today

The Lake Oahe Fishing Guides radius ranges from the river, north of Bismarck, ND and south to the North Dakota/South Dakota state line where the river opens up into Lake Oahe.Lake Oahe Guides also offers fully guided fishing trips on beautiful Lake Sakakawea.

During spring and fall months the majority of walleye migrate to the river stretches near Bismarck, ND.   During this time frame LakeOaheGuides.COM uses refined river fishing tactics to target pods of aggressive feeding walleye which can make for a fast and furious bite vertical jigging or pitching jigs tipped with live bait or plastics.  During the summer months we spend most of our time on either the southern parts of Lake Oahe or on Lake Sakakawea covering water with either crankbaits or spinners and bottom bouncers tipped with live bait.
