Report Details
Walleye fishing on the Missouri River out of Bismarck has been real good as of late.  With the nice weather we’ve had the past week, it’s made for some fun and enjoyable fall walleye fishing.  With water levels still high – the water has seemed to clear quite a bit and their sure are some nice walleyes waiting to be had.  Good numbers of 18-21 inch fish are very common right now.  Boats have been out the past week limiting in short order most days.  Pitching jigs with plastics or minnows up into the shallows have been the ticket.  As long as we have open water, this fall walleye bite will continue and fishing will be good.  But, as I type, I can’t help notice the 25 mph wind gusts and winter knocking at our door.

No doubt that winter is near, but the last few days/weeks, the fishing has been excellent.  Shore fishing has been the best all year.  In spite of the lousy weather, got two @ 21" and one @ 18" last night, in addition to one other throw-back fish.  Missed another 4, all in about 2 hours.
